Waikerie, South Australia

We called into a little town called Waikerie that is situated on the Murray River in the heart of the citrus growing district. We got there mid afternoon but the i (the tourist information centre) was closed. However, we saw a sign in the bakery window offering tourist information. Rob popped in and was given a pamphlet that was entitled, “78 Enjoyable Things to Do When You are Relaxing in and Around Waikerie”.

We really did enjoy reading the pamphlet (and even doing some of the recommended activities) and as it finished with the request, “After all This Waikerie Enjoyment, Please Tell Your Friends”; well I'm doing just that. Therefore, in my own way, here goes: -

As we travel with this van of ours,
Marvelling at our land so free,
We are reminded of delights that abound,
In the town of Waikerie.

If one afternoon into the town you wander,
Looking for things to do and see,

Fear not for there is something for all,
